I've been watching the number of homes for sale in Utah drop for the last year on a pretty consistent basis. Sometime in the last 24 hours the number of homes for sale along the Wasatch Front drop below the 9000 mark. That is the lowest I have seen it since I got into the business about three years ago. A little bit more than a year ago there were more than 12,000 homes available. This is making it harder for buyers to find homes and giving them less negotiating power when they do find one. As a result the homes are selling for more and home-owners are starting to see some appreciation. |

I would like to welcome ya'll to the site. My name is Jake Barlow and I practice real estate in Utah. I have searched all over the internet, and all I find on real estate websites is stuff like "List your home with me, I am the best" and "Don't list with him or you will lose your shirt". Where is all the information about how the real estate market is doing? How about interest rates in this area? How do I choose a mortgage officer? What about he real estate bubble? It will take a few months, but I hope to answer all these questions for anyone willing to read here. I will post every day or so and I will discuss things like market conditions and other things you will be interested in but are hard for non-Realtors to find on the internet, or anywhere else for that matter. Remember to come back often!! I have tried to make it easy for you with and opt-in daily email of the newest posts and an RSS feed |
